I am currently using SankeyMaster, for 6$ on the app store you get Mac and iOS, quite simple, not perfect, but reasonable.
And it accepts 3-columns csv from EDT!
you need to configure something to get the integer values on y-axis
You can check the documentation which is in the beta already when you use the â?â
But as stated by Andy, the âIâ doesnât work in all chart types at the moment.
seems to be a nice tool.
Late edit, as I donât want to open a new post. I take back my comment above:
Apple store data security information for the app:
We may collect the following types of information to provide and improve our appâs functionality:
Device information (device model, operating system)
Usage data and app performance metrics
User preferences and settings
This is a NoGo that the vendor of a local solution can collect usage data, at least for me. Other comparable apps (from China) show the same or similar remarks.
EDT keeps everything local. @Admin thanks a lot for this implementation approach,
We have put a lot of improvements in v2 already (13 releases worth):
But, as a matter of policy, we donât make promises about what features will be in future releases or when they will be released. You should make your decision about whether to upgrade or not based on what is in the release when it is released.
âBasicâ and âAdvancedâ are provisional names. We are open to ideas for better edition names. The issues with âEasy Data Transformâ and âEasy Data Transform Plusâ are:
- Does âEasy Data Transformâ refer to just the base tier or âEasy Data Transformâ and âEasy Data Transform Plusâ?
- What happens if we decide at some point to add a third tier below, between or above these 2 tiers? What do we call it?
Noted. I will indeed.
Iâd go with Standard and Plus.
Just thinking about names etc a bit more. Itâs probably too late for this alternative approach but what I would preferred to have seen would have been the option for the user to add different bundles to the standard version. i.e.:
- Additional Inputs bundle (including e.g. connect to database / api / online csv etc)
- Additional Transforms bundle
- Additional Outputs bundle (including e.g. Charts, publish file to web, email file, write to database etc)
- Additional Themes bundle
Would allow us as users to cherry pick a bit more in terms of adding what we want/need. And would also give us a clearer idea of what each purchase might entitle us to going forward.
That sort of approach is fine for ÂŁ100k+ per year consultingware. But too complicated for low cost shrinkware.
I trust that is not the case. It has appeared to me from Adminâs comments to date that the standard package will always have everything except the graphics of EDT+, as we see between v2.0 and v2.11 now. It would be a further shift in sales strategy.
Adding:
A feature of EDT is that it is simple yet comprehensive. Next we will be renting singular transforms for particular purposes! If you do not need a bit then do not use it. The package is coherent as it is.
There are no plans to remove anything from the core product in the transition from v2.10 to v2.11 Basic (apart from some bugs).
Possibly we might move some features between the different editions in v3. But that is some way off and it isnât something we have given any serious thought to yet.
Normally development say âitâs not a bug, itâs a featureâ ⌠so there are plans to remove features ![]()
From the initial announcement, I remember there was mention that it would be possible to combine charts into a live dashboard, which sounds like a great feature. I poked around on the current beta and didnât see how to do that. Is it still planned for a beta or v2 advanced? Thank you.
This is something we very much want to add. But we are currently focussed on shipping the existing charts functionality, so it wonât be in v2.11.
Ok, thanks, and thatâs good to know itâs still a possibility for a later version. The existing beta versionâs charts feature works really well from my brief testing of it, and I especially like being able to copy an image of a chart to the clipboard.
Loving this introduction of charts to EDT! Will most definitely acquire it. Gotta say I was not convinced at all when I first read it, but now I think it will be very good added value. Letâs see the upgrade price for existing users! Thank you Andy and team for this.
We think having visualization tightly integrated with data transformation is very powerful and makes Easy Data Transform more of a complete, end-to-end solution. We are hoping to put out the production release this week (possibly today) and there will be a discount offer for existing customers (time limited). Watch this space.
