Use Schema Question (Beta V2 version)

Hi Andy,

I like the new functionality with schema.
But when I configure it and I need later on a field which I ignored/removed before. There is the (+) button to add further fields, but as I see it I need to copy the exact name of the field before I go to the schema menu and add it. Or is there a possibility to get the field of the source not used in the schema in a popup to select?

Thanks, Olaf

Hi Olaf

You can import the new schema with 1 click:

But it will clear the existing schema. So you might have to do some re-ordering or deleting afterwards,

I guess we could add another button to import just new columns. This would add any columns not in the existing schema to the end of the current schema. Then you could re-order or delete them, as desired. Possibly we could ask them which columns to add first. I will have a think about it.

Hi Andy,

I use an Excel file with a tab with about 30 field, to check (Mac version). I reduced it to 4 field in the schema:

When I push the Button marked, nothing happens ā€¦

If all fields are imported and I have to rearrange, it would be fine. If I miss a single column I can copy the header name from source file and add.

That could be a bug. But Iā€™m not able to reproduce it here, so far.

Can you upload a simple example that reproduces the problem?

Ok, I reproduced it. Hopefully an easy fix. For now, just change Extra columns in input to Add to end before you click the import button. You can set it back afterwards.

Thanks, the workaround is fine, already.

Question on the missing column value, just fixed strings are possible there or do you intend to allow calculation, e.g. the today() like in Excel?

I have a fix.

Only fixed strings. For now, anyway.
