Is it possible to make “nice” values the default for both axes, or to put that option into preferences?
This is what happens without them, with a data point cut to a semicircle on each edge. Adding frame space as with “nice” values is the default in graphics packages I have used.
We have been thinking about using ‘nice values’ as the default for all charts.
Does anyone else have an opinion either way?
It is also on the todo list to look into smart defaults. E.g. where it defaults to the same value as the last chart you created of that type (similar to what it now does with Transform options).
I think setting nice values as a default is a good idea. In the several charts I’ve made, enabling that has been an improvement each time.
