Is it possible to set the “Sample” at 250,000 per default please?

I think it makes sense to keep the sample sizes as powers of 10. But it should probably remember the last value chosen as the default. I will make a note. Thanks for the suggestion.

maybe it is possible to define a default value in the system preferences. I don’t know if it the best choice to recall the last value used, which could be an exception.

We have to set it to something. The last value chosen (for that .transform?) is probably a better choice than 10,000.
We can make all these things configurable. But it adds a lot of clutter to the ‘Preferences’ window, which means more burden on the user and, potentially, more bugs.
